How to Perform a Factory Reset on a Strike Multipad

Alesis Strike Multipad factory reset instructions

In this guide, we will show you how to back up User Kits and perform a factory reset on an Alesis Strike Multipad. A factory reset will restore the device settings and kits to the original out-of-the-box defaults.

  1. Back up user kits
  2. Perform a factory reset

Back up user kits

When restoring the Strike Multipad to its factory default settings, it will erase all User Kits. Just like backing up computer files, having a back up of all of your User Kits available can get you going again without needing to start from scratch. You will need a USB thumb drive which is formatted to FAT32 in order to back up your kits, so follow these steps to complete a system back up.

  1. Format a USB thumb drive to FAT32, and then connect it to the USB MEMORY port on the back of the unit.
  2. Press the Utility button, and then press the F6 button below the display to enter the backup and restore mode.
  3. Select Save All User Kits and press the main encoder to begin the back up. You will be prompted when the back up is complete.

Perform a factory reset

The factory reset option is located in the same menu where you performed the backup and only takes a few moments. Once the reset is complete, load any User Kits you saved to a USB thumb drive back onto your Strike Multipad.

  1. Select Restore Factory Settings, and press the main encoder to begin the reset process.
  2. When prompted, press the encoder again to restart the unit.
  3. Press the Utility button, and then press the F6 button below the display to enter the backup and restore mode.
  4. Select Load All User Kits, and press the main encoder to load the User Kits back onto your hardware.
    • If you have multiple back-ups on the thumb drive, use the main encoder to select which back-up file you wish to load.
