Finding Unused Sample #’s on K2000’s
A common problem faced by owner’s of Kurzweil’s K2000/K2vx/K2000VP/K2500 series instruments: If you have expanded your instrument with optional ROM blocks, you may find yourself running out of locations for storing samples in your instrument’s RAM. We’ve been running into this situation ourselves, so we put Sweetwater’s Chief Soundware Engineer, Daniel Fisher on the case. In his usual fashion, he came back with a solution to this dilemma. By looking at where the ROM blocks were storing their samples, and mapping out the spaces that were left empty in those banks, he came up with an additional 147 sample locations available for use for user samples. We’ve posted a file documenting these locations on our site in PDF format.
