I get a error when initializing a CD-R/CD-RW Disc on my G4 with Mac OS 9.1
A: Disc Burner software is required to initialize a CD-R/CD-RW disc. If Disc Burner software is not installed on the computer, inserting a CD-R or CD-RW disc and choosing an option to initialize it results in an alert box with an error message or an unresponsive system.

Solution
Use the Software Update control panel to download and install Disc Burner software on the computer. Or, use the Software Restore CD that came with your computer to Restore your original hard drive contents.
Note: Some Power Mac G4 (Digital Audio) computers do not include Disc Burner software.
