Does Digidesign Pro Tools 6.X work with Windows XP Service Pack 2 (SP2)? I seem to be having problems since I upgraded.
Digidesign did not support SP2 until version 6.9 of Pro Tools, as they had computability problems with Pro Tools and Windows Service Pack 2. Here at Sweetwater we had numerous problems caused by users upgrading to SP2 and still running Pro Tools versions earlier than 6.7.
One problem specifically was due to having automatic updates turned on. We recommend uninstalling SP2 to get Pro Tools to work again only if you are running a version of Pro Tools that is earlier than 6.7. If you are running Pro Tools’ 6.9, 7.0, or any later version, than you should have no problem as Digidesign has overcome the previous compatibility problems.
