Cubase VST PC crashes or locks up the computer when I attempt to record audio or click on a specific item.
1. Check the computer for IRQ conlicts and resolve any problems
2. Reduce the number of background applications to minimum
3. Reduce graphic acceleration
4. User has a poor sound card and should get an audio card that uses dedicated ASIO drivers.
5. Upgrade to the latest version of Direct X (www.microsoft.com)
**Direct X 8.0 is currently not Recommended. Go no higher that 7.0***
6. Upgrade Sound Card Drivers
7. Perform a Custom Uninstall, clear registry, reboot, reinstall from CD, update Cubase VST to latest version.
