Can I control the BRC from my sequencer?
It is possible to control the BRC’s transport commands by sending MMC commands from your sequencer. Most computer sequencers support MMC (Midi Machine Control) and some of the dedicated sequencers do as well. The BRC will automatically respond to MMC. The only parameter to set is the device ID# under the MIDI/UTIL pages. The default setting is 0. The ID# should match that of the transport control from the sequencer. Note that not all companies adhere strictly to the MMC standard, so that there maybe some commands that do not function properly from your sequencer. The ADAT and BRC use the standard MMC track record status (4E) and track record ready (4F) information fields as described in the MIDI 1.0 Recommended Practice RP-013 document available from the International MIDI Association.
