Why can’t I sync to Midi Time Code (MTC) on playback in Sonar 1.0.2?
This is a known issue with this version of Sonar. When you press the PLAY button, the timecode sync source is reset from MTC to Audio, thus disallowing you to sync to an external timecode. This only happens with the play button, record works fine. The fix, while a few extra steps, is easy. Create a new midi track, set it to a channel you don’t plan to use, and leave it in record enable mode. Now always hit record if you’re playing back or recording. Just be careful not to have any tracks record-enabled while you are playing back or you’ll have to use the undo feature.
