Blue G3 Mac Compatibility
We continue to get questions about the new Blue G3 Macintoshes and their compatibility for Pro Tools and other products.Currently Digidesign has not approved their use with any of their products. The Mark of the Unicorn 2408 and Ensoniq Paris systems do seem to be working fine. The only catch is that you need to make sure you can get your software authorized, which means you either need to buy a USB floppy drive or buy software that doesn’t require a floppy to be authorized. USB MIDI interfaces are right on the brink of shipping so it will not be long before MIDI functionality is in place. As always we recommend you speak to us before purchasing a computer if you need to get work done right away.
