Clevelander

The Clevelander Drum Company was founded in 1987 by Paul Yancich, longtime Principal Timpanist of the Cleveland Orchestra and one of the most respected percussion educators of his generation. Inspired by a pair of bamboo timpani mallets discovered among instruments shipped from Europe, Yancich began developing handmade mallets that would eventually help define the signature sound of one of the world’s most celebrated orchestras. In 1997, Clevelander became part of Grover/Trophy Music Group, a family-owned music company that has served musicians, educators, and students since 1922. Together, they have remained committed to preserving the craftsmanship and musical standards that made the Clevelander name respected by percussionists around the world. Offering a full range of mallets and accessories for marimba, vibraphone, xylophone, glockenspiel, concert bass drum, plus marching snare, tenor, and bass drum, Clevelander’s products are developed with the player in mind: to provide exceptional balance, consistency, articulation, and tonal control, allowing musicians to focus on expression rather than equipment.
