The Casio Story
While the name “Casio” may conjure images of calculators, watches, digital cameras, and other electronics, the heritage behind this diversity is part of what makes Casio so unique. It all began in 1957 when Tadao Kashio founded the original Casio Computer company. He and his three brothers immediately set out to create an accessible and compact electric relay calculator, and the success of the Model 14-A set the trend for decades to come. In the ’80s, one of the Kashio brothers began to apply the philosophy behind Casio’s budget-friendly electronics division to musical instruments, and the rest is history.
