A Great-sounding Instrument Mic That’s Built to Last

The sE Electronics V7 X delivers the perfect combination of great sound and impressive durability. Tailor-made for instruments, this microphone’s specialized aluminum voice coil delivers detailed highs and deep, clear lows from whatever you put in front of it. Experience excellent isolation from stage noise and massive amounts of gain before feedback, thanks to the V7 X’s supercardioid design. Its integrated shockmount ensures that rumble and other distracting sounds won’t become a problem, and an internal windscreen prevents wind noise from ruining your performance. The V7 X is built to last, with durable zinc alloy construction and a super-tough beveled spring steel mesh grille.

Specialized aluminum voice coil manifests a crisp, open sound

By virtue of its custom-developed aluminum voice coil, the V7 X lends detailed highs and deep, clear lows to your instruments but still maintains a natural sound. Enjoy excellent isolation and copious amounts of gain before feedback, thanks to the V7 X’s superbly built supercardioid capsule. When we ran the V7 X through its paces here at Sweetwater, we were duly impressed by its performance — especially for the price.

Integrated shockmount and internal windscreen ensure top-notch stage performance

When you take the stage with the sE Electronics V7 X, you don’t have to worry about extraneous noise. An integrated shockmount decouples the V7 X’s capsule, effectively eliminating rumble and other distracting sounds, while an internal windscreen reduces unwanted wind noise. Both red and black windscreens are included, so you can choose which one suits your personal style.

Heavy-duty metal construction and beveled spring steel grille

Built from durable zinc alloy, the road-ready V7 X can withstand serious punishment. Its spring steel mesh grille is dent- and corrosion-resistant. And, courtesy of the grille’s beveled edge, this microphone won’t roll around when you set it down. Rest assured that you’ll be using the V7 X for years to come, thanks to its high-quality components that include a gold-plated XLR connector.

Reviews

My new favorite dynamic mic.
I bought a sE V7x at the recommendation of a friend, tried it everywhere. I loved it so I also bought 2 V-Beats (Same mic, different body/mount).

The V7X on Electric GT, For distortion, its very modern sounding, tight, upfront. SM57 have more mid/low mids, and more of a vintage vibe. But the V-Beat or V7X sounds amazing and add 2db to 180hz, and you are done. For Clean Electric GT, it sounded fantastic. Again, upfront, clear, clean. Just a great new color for my tool box.

I even tested it on Acoustic guitar side by side with my "go to" acoustic mic (AT4050). Also tested a Audix D1, OM6, SM57. The V7X floored me! Sounded very close to my 4050, It sounded so good I will use it for acoustic micing in the future. A statement I thought I would never say about a dynamic mic.

On drums, the bottom end is clear and tight, without the low end mud compared to others. Once you start EQ'ing the mic, is easy to EQ/dial in. Meaning, compared to a Audix D1, the D1 you have to Eq out areas that the mic is adding to it, such as boxy-ness and 2.5k bump when mic'n toms. The sE V7x/V-beat you start with a sound that sound just like the tom and can simple Eq to taste. Compare to a 57, the best way to describe it is clear with full frequency response. A 57 has more low mids but no presence, the V7X/V-Beat has clean tight lows/low mids and the highs are fantastic! Sounds like the drum when you stand in front of it and hit it!

V7X/V-Beat sounds the closes to a Large Diaphragm condenser on toms, but without the bleed issues. I was totally surprised!

Snare, the V7X/V-beat is my excellent.

I actually love this on vocals
I have the SE Electronics V7 which is wonderful.
But recently purchased this V7x and when used with a mic foam cover it sounds amazing
As I mainly play in the open air in town centre's.
So I'm playing in all sorts of weather's and I use the wind shield foam
For when it's windy.
This mic has such a crisp warm sound that really cuts through.
Has a lot of detail too.
Very pleased with this mic although it's mainly an instrument mic.
It really suits my voice. It's now favourite gigging microphone.

Great Mic
I bought this mic as a recommendation for my snare drum and I love it. It picks up the sound of the snare just how I like it.

I adore this microphone
This thing sounds killer on guitar cab and on my floor tom (which is the main reason I got it). I use a Beta 57A on my snare drum and I almost sold it given how much I love this mic, but I still prefer the Beta 57A on snare. There's that boost in the high mid frequency that shure mics have which really work well with the crack of a snare, but I didn't hate the V7X on snare. It has sounded great on everything I've put it in front of.
Great Fender Champ AMP
Absolutely! It works and produces a clean sound. I purchased this mic for my Fender Champ Amp. And it worked like a champ! Thank you, Sweetwater, for recommending this mic.
