WHOA...WOW...

I have been playing since the late 1960's. Been around the block a few times. I have owned some of the most prized collectibles (when they were not quite collectible, LOL). I have met or jammed with some of the greats. All of this leads me to this: This recent Squier VM Telecaster Deluxe ranks among some of the very best I have owned or jammed on. The intensity of the FLAMED MAPLE NECK (through and through) has only been found of Warmoth necks costing $500 or on custom shop models. Yikes...I caught a break on this one. I can't believe it was on Sweetwater's photo file with another one (not of this kind of marking) and it just sat there for as long as it did. This guitar sounds fantastic (this version of the WR pickup is tasty to my ears). The playability? Wow. The fit and finish? Wow. I recall when CBS bought Fender and when Norlin took over Gibson. Guys from my generation tried to avoid CBS Fenders and Norlin Gibsons. We felt, rightly so, that the quality had suffered. That is why I find it odd when I see Fenders and Gibsons from the 1970's fetching between $1000 and $2000. But I will tell you this: This VM Squier is a whole lot better than any of those. Go figure. Maybe Fender wants to make a few 'mea culpas'. Cool. I would send a snapshot of the flame...but there is no way to upload a file.

It Rocks

This thing is Amazing! After setting it up to my specifications, I really cant find a flaw on this thing. Plays amazing, sounds great (after raising up the pickups), looks cool as hell. The neck is gorgeous! SO impressed with the newer Squiers.
