Two Distinct Flavors of Vintage Tremolo

The Supro Tremolo pedal emulates the sound of a Class A tube amp circuit and delivers two distinct flavors of tremolo. Select Amplitude mode for the iconic sound of bias-modulated power tubes. Switch over to Harmonic mode to conjure the sound of early-'60s Fender amplifiers. Use the Gain control to drive the output transformer into rich sonic saturation — the automatic volume compensation will ensure adding gain doesn't boost volume. Factor in the expression pedal input for control over the tremolo speed, and it's clear the Supro Tremolo pedal is one of the most versatile tremolo effects around.

Like taking the tremolo circuit out of a vintage amp

The Supro Tremolo pedal is designed to sound like a Class A tube amp circuit, complete with preamp and "power amp" sections. Using the Gain control, you can drive the power amp section just like you would on a tube amp. The Supro Tremolo boasts a real output transformer that you can drive into full saturation, adding harmonic excitement to your tone without adding an unwanted volume boost. Whether you put it in front of your amp or in your effects loop, Sweetwater is sure you'll find that the Supro Tremolo is one of the most amp-like tremolo effects around.

Supro Tremolo Pedal Features:

  • Tremolo effects pedal for electric guitar with two tremolo modes
  • Amplitude mode delivers the classic, swampy sound of bias-modulated tube tremolo
  • Harmonic mode emulates the unique sound of Fender's early-'60s amplifiers with harmonic tremolo circuits
  • Gain control allows you to drive the output transformer for magnetic saturation
  • Automatic volume compensation keeps your signal level in check
  • Expression pedal input for controlling Speed
  • Powered via 9V battery or optional power supply

Reviews

Always On Pedal
Outstanding tremolo, and the output transformer on this pedal is a revelation. It adds weight and fatness to the sounds coming from my Tonex pedal, so I always leave it on with everything turned down. I run it at 18v to get more output and headroom from it, but I have tried at 9v 500ma, and it just doesn't have the same magic as running at the higher voltage. Highly recommended!
perfect photocell tones
I almost docked this pedal by one star because it's a little on the noisy side (think white noise: "shhhhhhhhhh"). But it's not that distracting and the tones were so I good I couldn't help but give it the full 5 stars. It's the best trem pedal I've heard on the market. I just did a side by side comparison with a real '65 Deluxe, a '64 Gibson Skylark and a Keeley Verb-o-Trem. The Keeley is dead quiet, subtle, and closer to the original Fender trem. Great pedal, but a little tame for my taste. The Supro is brighter, more raucous and closer to the Gibson trem. When it comes to depth, the Supro wins in spades. It's lush and vibrant, almost "alive" if you will. No volume drop. Gain control lets you add a little hair if needed--awesome feature. And the harmonic setting is just lights out. Forget about it. It's chewier than a tootsie roll. (Think Ry Cooder "Jesus on the Mainline" on steroids). You can dial in Leslie-ish tones that are very Hendrixy. So much so that I will probably be taking my univibe off the board now. I prefer this pedal to the original Fender amp trem, and will be using it exclusively from now on. Not to mention, the speed and depth settings are FAR broader than either of the amps I tested it against. In fact with the depth all the way up, it will almost go full square wave on you (think on/off/on/off). Short of covering Link Wray, I'm not sure when I'd use a trem that radical, but it's nice to have in the arsenal. Love the soft touch switch. Built like a tank, and beautiful too. Can't wait to take it on the road.

Beautiful
I have an early Diaz Tremodillo made by Cesar himself and until I got this Supro Tremolo the Diaz was the winner in any shootout I've done. Not any more. This Supro Tremolo is simply magic. The amplitude trem is perfect; throbbing, swampy, chewy - however you want to say it.

The harmonic trem is equally impressive and although not what I bought it for, it is really fun to have onboard. It could certainly replace a vibe pedal.

The drive is the thing that puts this over the top. Running in front of a solid state amp you'd swear you had tubes all nice and warm and glowing and breaking up just enough.

Also, FWIW, I do not find this pedal to be noisy at all.

Killer pedal, worth every penny.

a versatile tremolo
I purchased this pedal from Sweetwater several months ago and despite being a staunch opto-trem (Fulltone Supa-Trem)advocate. The Supro trem has such a sweet sweet tone and the harmonic tremolo is killer in which a Uni-vibe style of modulation comes from the pedal. The bias trem is also impressive but what I discovered to be most surprising is the natural gain it gives. A sweet killer tonal texture is offered when the tremolo is not engaged and sing the gain knob as a coloring effect.

Outstanding Pedal
I can"t say enough good things about this pedal. The two different tremolo types are my favorite styles. They are "swampier" than the blackface tremolo. The harmonic tremolo is close enough to a vibe for me that I don"t need to have a vibe on my board, too. I"ve had amps with both styles of trem and I think this nails the tone.
