Great mid-boost kit
I've now installed 4 of these and they work like a charm.
This is alot lot more than 25 db, Its got condencours of 2000 volts which means its a non linear active cuircuit
My Clapton signature Stratocaster with Vintage Noiceless stacked Humbuckers got to 137 decibels with master volume at 1 out of 10. When I lowered the EQ Clapton signature Stratocaster with Vintage Noiceless stacked Humbuckers was 65,44 decibels louder than the Clapton signature Stratocaster with Lace sencour gold. When Clapton signature Stratocaster with Vintage Noiceless stacked Humnuckers was at 120 secibels with a tad nore volume on the amp was at 120 decibels it was 73 decibels louder than the Clapton signature Stratocaster with Lace sencour gold.then at 137 decibels the Clapton signature Stratocaster with Vintage Noiceless stacked Humnuckers signature was 87 decibels louder than the Clapton signature Stratocaster with Lace sencour gold. thats exactly how a non linear active cuircuit exponetially accelerates a Stronger Vinatge Noiceless stacked Humnucker with 9,8 Khom and 3 Henries and 2 1 meg pots and a 500 volume pot agains a 56,6 Khom 2,3 Henries with 3 250 p0ts Lace sencour gold. Fast switching takes the Clapton signature Stratocaster with Vintage Noiceless stacked Humbuckers to 15 000 volt output which is no problem at all with the none lear active cuircuite of 128 microa amper

Works on all guitars
I have used this mid-boost kit on several different guitars. My friends and I really like it. The other nice part is, alot of guitars come with 3 pots. Personally, I only use 1 volume and a single tone. Add this to the now open hole and you really get so many new sounds.

Mid boost for any guitar
I have used this Mid boost kit for several of my builds. I modify the TBX tone controls to prevent the "pop" between bass and treble. The mid boost gives a nice "growl" to the pickups. You can clean up your "muddy" humbuckers or make your single coils scream. It is a great addition to any guitar.

A LOT better than anticipated.
I purchased this to put into a Deluxe Roadhouse stratocaster so I had a battery compartment available. That made it a lot easier to install.
I like the Roadhouse but never was thrilled with the various settings on its preamp. I tried a Clapton strat and really liked the sound of it...Same pickups in both guitars but the Clapton one had what my ears were looking for so - I took the plunge and purchased this boost kit. I had a set of Fender Vintage Noiseless pickups that I had purchased for another guitar but used them for this project and also purchased a new pickguard. The reason was to keep everything intact for the Roadhouse in case I ever want to sell it or put it back to stock.

Installation of this was fairly straightforward and it will fit very nicely if the instructions are modified a little bit. What I did was switch the positions of the TBX and the boost pot. That put the taller pot at the rear of the cutaway and left a nice, level place to set the circuit board. On the circuit board, I did remove the corners and rounded them over with a Dremel. I then put several layers of electrical tape on the bottom (solder side) of the PCB...then some double-sided foam tape...then a piece of plastic (was a plastic baseball card holder) then more double-sided foam tape. This was then adhered to the backs of the Volume and Boost pots.

I did take care to make sure that all caps and wiring were out of the way and soldered ground connections to the sides of the pots - - facing the switch.

Once all was wired and completed, it worked like a champ! Best investment made to add a boost to a guitar. Fender should have used this on their Roadhouse instead of the other type of circuitry.

The strat sounds very much like a strat, no questions about that at all. When the boost is maxed out, it is like running the strat through a TubeScreamer with the volume at about 70% and the gain at 30%. Love this for solos in the Blues style of playing.

All in all, I did knock it 1/2 star as I cannot say how easy it would be to mount with the battery and also having to remove the pickguard to change batteries. I have seen some people mount the battery in the tremolo cavity...
Great investment and I honestly am happy with this upgrade.
