When it comes to column personal PA system design, Samson doesn't mess around. Their Resound VX8.1 comes loaded with eight 3.5" speakers arranged in a mini line array atop a 12" subwoofer. This gives you low frequencies down to 40Hz. Backed by a mighty 700-watt, Class D amplifier, the Resound VX8.1 can blast out 125dB and cover up to a 200º spread. A 3-channel mixer accommodates everything from singer/songwriters and soloists to small bands, and you even get Bluetooth playback — perfect for playing along to backing tracks. Adjustable coverage

One of the things many of us here at Sweetwater like the most about the Resound VX8.1 is its 3-segment column construction. Not only does this configuration allow you to break down your Resound VX8.1 for easy storage and transportation, it also lets you control the width of the array. By default, the horizontal spread is 120º, but when you rotate two of the Resound VX8.1's segments 45º in opposite directions, you get a 200º spread that's perfect for large audiences.

Flexible 3-channel mixer

The Resound VX8.1's integrated mixer adds versatility to this amazing sound system. The mixer includes plenty of useful I/O, allowing you to connect microphones, instruments, and line-level gear. What's more, this mixer includes Bluetooth connectivity, which lets you play music remotely from your phone or computer. And if you want to expand your system with an additional Resound VX8.1, then the Thru output makes chaining them easy. On top of that, integrated DSP gives you four preset modes (Music, Live, Speech, DJ) for the perfect sound.

Power meets portability

Lightweight Class D amplifiers like the ones in the Resound VX8.1 are revered throughout the sound-reinforcement world for their extreme light weight. The ones Samson packed into the Resound VX8.1 are heavy hitters, providing a total of 700 watts (350 watts to the array and 350 watts to the subwoofer). With the weight off the amp, Samson was free to build the Resound VX8.1 from sturdy materials, including solid plywood and steel. The result is a slim and highly portable PA system that travels like a champ.

These are great outdoor PA systems.
I bought these just before Great Pandemic.
Someone complain and give one star.
Complain was"no sounds coming from
Bottom speakers".
Person is wrong that suppose to be a spacer.

We use this for our 2 and 4 person band. We run it through a Mackie mixer so we have a lot of EQ options. I love the power it has and the sound is awesome. The top section swivels so you can technically use the it as a "monitor"....it's a loud speaker, so keep that in mind at 700 Watts. The Bluetooth works well - not sure what the distance would be, but it worked well for our band. I highly recommend this. With all of this being said, I did get one that lost power during a gig, but Sweetwater came through and exchanged it out for a new one per their generous warranty. I'm not sure why it went well because we took care of it and treated it well, but regardless, it wasn't enough to scare me off of buying another one. We love it and it's easy to carry. I put it in the back of my Nissan 370z, so it is fairly portable.

I perform is a one-man show guitar vocals and backing tracks I usually played around 100 to 200 people at RV resorts in the clubhouses this thing cuts through all those people sound covers the whole room people always compliment me on my sound crystal clear and the base hits really well in the past I always use Bose pro 8 or electric voice but I got to really tell you this thing puts them down why spend the money for bows when you could spend something like this and have a great unit that's going to last you a lifetime I'm really happy with my body thinking about buying another one

I am very picky when it comes to sound. Our 4 member band uses this array for live gigs. We get amazing feedback from the audience and how clean our sound is. When I bought this directly from Sweetwater speaker room, I compared it side by side with a Bose array. This Samson sounded just as good as the Bose. And what was cool was you can swivel the two top sound sections in the direction of the room you choose. Plus you can arrange the speaker in front of your act and swivel one or two of the sections back at you as a kick back monitor. I bought this as an open box item for $ so I was quite pleased - and after removing the box, I was able to transport from Sweetwater to my home in a Nissan 370z !!

I bought my Samson resound from Sweetwater excellent company.
I am a sitar player who performs regularly on Santa Monica Pier for Busking.
I have been using EV zlx with Beringer 12-inch subwoofer they sound amazing
the only problem has to run the whole system on 12-volt batteries which get real heavy.
So now I am using Samson resound. This speaker is great easily cut through
ambient sound of ocean waves other breakdancers with whom I am competing.
Sadly pier is shut down because of Covid 19.
Can't wait to go back and perform again with these speakers.
Maybe one day I will see you there.
