Rock a 5th-gen ROKIT

The KRK ROKIT series has reigned as among world’s most trusted studio reference monitors for decades. The Generation Five (G5) iteration seriously ups at ante with three innovative voicing modes, DSP room tuning, and a new driver design that extends the frequency range plus provides enhanced damping and modal breakup control. KRK ROKIT G5 monitors also feature Class D power amplifiers that utilize the famous KRK brickwall limiter and a front-firing port that accurately reproduces low end, in addition to allowing more options for pacing your monitors. To help you set up your listening environment, the KRK ROKIT G5 retains an LCD as well as the ultra-handy KRK App for both iOS and Android. Finally, the KRK ROKIT G5 features an LCD that helps you visualize 25 different graphic EQs — the only monitor in its class with such a feature.

Voicing Modes let you create, mix, and troubleshoot

Three Voicing Modes — Mix, Create, and Focus — provide the flexibility of three monitors in one. First, Mix mode provides you with a flat frequency and phase response for when it’s time to mix and master. Next, Create mode is meant writing and producing music, and it’s also an excellent setting for casual listening. Finally, Focus mode focuses on midrange frequencies so you can precisely correct any “honkiness” in your mixes.

DSP Room Tuning with LCD

While Sweetwater mix engineers champion mixing with your ears and not your eyes, they also know that visual feedback can be handy. That’s why they laud the KRK ROKIT G5’s LCD, which lets you visualize 25 different EQ combinations — the only monitor in its class that utilizes such a feature. In conjunction with the KRK ROKIT G5’s DSP-driven Room Tuning, this functionality helps you deftly address acoustic problems in your listening environment.

Class D amps and front-ported cab

The KRK ROKIT G5 monitors brandish a couple of significant analog features. First, they utilize custom Class D amplifiers that both evenly power the drivers, improve efficiency at reduced temperatures, and work alongside the revered KRK Brick Wall Limiter to achieve and maintain a more balanced sound, wider dynamic range, and protect your system from mishaps. Second, the KRK ROKIT G5’s front-firing port provides you with a more focused bass representation and gives you much more flexibility regarding your monitor placement.

KRK ROKIT 7 G5 7-inch Powered Studio Monitor Features:

  • The latest generation of KRK ROKITs, one of the world’s most trusted series of reference monitors
  • 3 Voicing Modes are designed to cater to whatever you need for mixing, mastering, and creating music
  • Minimize and correct acoustic problems in your listening environment via their DSP-driven Room Tuning plus an integrated LCD that helps you visualize 25 distinct graphic EQ settings
  • USA-designed proprietary drivers with 1-inch acoustic silk-dome tweeter and woven Kevlar aramid fiber cone woofer that extend frequency range plus provide superior damping and modal breakup control, respectively
  • Class D power amplifiers evenly power drivers, improve representation, and operate more efficiently at reduced temperatures
  • Built-in brickwall limiter automatically engages at max level to maintain a balanced sound, offer wider dynamic range, and protect your system
  • Front-firing port offers exceptional low-end extension, focus, punch, and gives you more options with regard to monitor placement
  • Includes 2 magnetic faceplates grille on/off flexibility
  • Includes high-density foam isolation pads for minimizing vibrations
  • Integrated mounting points for use with optional KRK mounting brackets
  • Set up and tune with the KRK Audio Tools app, an acoustic real-time spectral analyzer that helps you set up your listening environment, aids with level matching, monitor placement, subwoofer level

Reviews

Great speakers for mixing
These speakers are excellent for mixing. Not only do they have a digital EQ but these speakers allow for clear mixing when doing transitions, etc. You have to order the external cables for use with the FLX4, but overall these speakers sound super good. The service and delivery was fast. Sweetwater is the best for all my dj needs so far.
Great speakers!
Awesome speakers! The fidelity is amazing. As always Sweetwater delivers an awesome product. I highly recommend Sweetwater for any musical item you're lookin to purchase. If you have any questions they know their products!
Music background: A musican for decades!
Clear and transparent
I've had the KRK ROKIT 7 G5's (stereo) for about a month now. Still acclimating to them and my room by doing a lot of listening. They sound very good with all the types of music I enjoy and especially good with the types of things I record and mix which tends towards mic'ed acoustic instruments. The built-in EQ settings are effective and easy to use as you tune to your room, but are hard to reach if you have them installed in a tight place.

Vocals are especially clear and crisp without being overly bright. They have good bass response for my needs, but could use a sub if you are doing very bass heavy stuff or need to fill a larger room.

Overall I'd say they are a great value and worth a listen.

Note: These are my first set of dedicated studio monitors. Previously I've used whatever I could piece together such mid-range stereo speakers and an NAD integrated amp--setups that cost 3 or 4 times the cost of these KRKs and sound good but did not have as much kick or flexibility these do.
