Serious Low End from a Desktop-sized System
Designed exclusively for seamless integration with the company’s Selene passive studio monitors, the Ex Machina Soundworks Poseidon draws power and DSP directly from the Selene’s external EXCore module to form a complete 2.2 system. This passive subwoofer pair extends your Selene-based system’s low-frequency performance from 80Hz down to a subterranean 35Hz, with a linear response reaching 50Hz via a zero-phase 150Hz crossover. Brandishing custom 6.3-inch drivers with more than a half inch of linear excursion in each direction, the Poseidon delivers up to 98dB continuous SPL at 50Hz from a rigid 6.5-inch cube aluminum enclosure. Individually measured and calibrated, then integrated through coordinated DSP processing, the Poseidon operates as a true unified 3-way system when deployed alongside the Selene, providing you with flawless phase coherence, picture-perfect time alignment, and top-caliber full-range monitoring performance suitable for music, film, and immersive audio work. Ultimately, the Poseidon delivers serious low-end authority without the footprint of traditional subwoofer systems — exactly what you need in desktop-sized or small-room environments.
Note: Ex Machina Soundworks Poseidon subwoofers require the company’s Selene passive studio monitors to operate. Please call your Sweetwater Sales Engineer if you have questions.

Purpose-built drivers, scaled for low-frequency extension
Housing custom Epique MMAG 6.3-inch woofers engineered specifically for integration with your Selene-based system, the Poseidon delivers rock-solid low-frequency performance with more than a half inch of linear excursion in each direction, exceeding the excursion of the 9-inch drivers used in Ex Machina Soundworks’ first-generation Pulsar studio monitors. When integrated with Selene via a zero-phase 150Hz crossover, the Poseidon achieves a linear response down to 50Hz with an F6 of 35Hz, producing up to 98dB of continuous output at 50Hz from a rigid 6.5-inch cube enclosure. At Sweetwater, we’ve found that adding a set of Poseidons to your Selene-based setup not only provides the low-end foundation your compact monitors can’t deliver on their own but also delivers full-range accuracy from an impossibly small footprint.

Seamless system integration and amplification
Each Poseidon is measured and calibrated individually before the complete Selene-and-Poseidon system undergoes a coordinated, system-level calibration, providing you with unrivaled consistency and performance. Additionally, the Selene’s EXCore DSP applies digital crossovers and time alignment across all crossover points, certifying seamless integration, allowing your system to function as a cohesive, unified 3‑way design rather than separate components sharing the same space. Moreover, because the Poseidon is powered by the Selene’s external EXCore module and receives its calibration from the same DSP platform, you’re able to benefit from over‑the‑air updates as measurement processes continue to evolve.
