Funky Passive bass

I just want to start by saying when you hear this Bass it sounds like it has a Preamp in it ! Its passive I generally go for active instruments but this thing sounds better then the 800 Fender P bass wow! If you turn the J pick up all the way up it makes a little noise but if you keep playing you wont hear it. The neck and body is beautiful right out of the box . Thanks to sweetwaters inspection I didnt even have to tune mine and its 20 degrees here in the Cleveland area it stayed in tune. Tuning keys and everything about this bass is great. You dont need 5 knobs this is the funk machine here , or metal . I used a pick with it by the bridge wow for my metal heads out there great classic vibe with this bass.

Squier VM PJ Bass

Just got my Lake Placid Blue Squier Vintage Modified PJ Bass, and, let me tell you, the setup is PERFECT. I am totally blown-away by the difference the 55-pt inspection makes to the playability of an instrument right out of the box.The p- and j- pickups sound excellent on their own, but I bought this bass for the awesome and unique tone you get from both pickups at full volume, full tone. And it looks absolutely stunning, especially with the high-mass bridge (no need to replace!).Sweetwater has another customer for life, and this bass is truly bad***.

No Regrets!

OK so I'm a fairly new player, and while I've been learning on a borrowed bass, I decided it was definitely time to get one of my own. After agonizing for weeks over what kind I wanted, how much I was willing to spend etc.and reading countless product reviews, I finally pulled the trigger on the Squier VM P/J bass. I've had it for a couple weeks now, & so far I have absolutely no regrets! I have an almost excessive attention to detail, as well as an uncanny ability (a curse maybe) to end up with the one defect out of a thousand, and as far as I can tell this thing is put together perfectly. I also took it to a friend of mine who is a professional guitarist, and he said the setup was about as good as it can get. Very pleased.

Why spend more

This is a great bass out of the box. Fit and finish perfect. Only thing that needed an up grade was the nut. The plastic nut was cut correctly but I prefer bone. So once I cut a new bone nut and replaced the strings with D'addario ECB84 flats this thing rocks. Pickups are hot and quiet, jazz pickup even has adjustable poles. Bass has factory installed high mass bridge and standard tuners. Squier has stepped up their game. So if you are looking for a nice precision bass that won't break the bank this is a nice choice.
