A Lunchbox Head Loaded with Big-league Features
How many features can you pack into a Lunchbox head? If the Victory Amplification MKX is any indication, the answer is quite a lot. To start, this pint-sized 50-watt tube amplifier head features three footswitchable channels, comprising crystalline cleans, classic Victory crunch, and sizzling-hot high gain. Next, two Master Volumes give you an ultra-versatile output stage. Or do you want a level boost on any of the three channels? Consider it done! You also get an effects loop for your pedals and outboard processing gear. Are you rocking out in a small space? If so, the MKX’s power scaling feature takes things down to a bedroom-friendly nine watts. Two distinctly different reverbs are also on tap, complete with Level and Decay controls, granting you the perfect balance of ambient dimensionality and sonic flexibility. When it comes to delivering high-octane, tube-driven tones from a portable, feature-laden package, you’ll be hard-pressed to eclipse the Victory MKX.

From jazz to metal and all points in between
Thanks to its three footswitchable channels, the MKX covers a lot of sonic ground. Boasting its own EQ, Gain, and Level controls, the Clean channel delivers a bright, chiming sound suitable for funky chords, jazz standards, and more. At Sweetwater, we’ve also found ear-grabbing edge-of-breakup tones lurking within the MKX’s Clean channel. With separate Clean and Overdrive controls, the OD1 channel is your one-stop shop for old-school Victory crunch. Moreover, you get two Gain modes: Gain 1 for Crunch and Rhythm sounds and Gain 2 for full-on saturated distortion. Finally, the OD2 channel delivers sublime lead tones and high-gain textures, bolstered by its own Gain control and an EQ and Level control shared with the OD1 channel. When you’re craving liquid sustain and set-to-stun riffage, the OD2 channel will leave you fully satiated.

Two Master Volumes, two reverbs, infinite possibilities
Whether you need a versatile output stage or a volume lift on any of the three channels, the Victory Amplification MKX’s two Master Volumes, which can be activated using the included footswitch, will make it happen. Additionally, the effects loop makes integrating your pedalboard and outboard processors completely seamless. Moreover, as with all other Victory Lunchbox amplifier heads, the MKX includes switchable power scaling, enabling you to dial down the amplifier’s 50 roaring watts to a much more manageable nine. Finally, the MKX is the perfect amp for reverb aficionados, as it includes two distinctly different types. Reverb I is a vintage-flavored, spring-style reverb, able to satisfy your cravings for surf-tinged, drippy, and boingy textures. Reverb II, on the other hand, is a modern reverb inspired by The Deputy, providing you with everything from subtle ambience to full-blown shimmering immersion. To top it off, each reverb type has a Level and Decay control, giving you a sublime balance of ambience and versatility.
