Classic J Bass Style with Extended 6-string Range

A gig-ready entryway into the world of the 6-string bass, the Squier Affinity Series Jazz Bass VI crosses classic Jazz Bass style with sweeping sonic range. At the heart of this bass’s lightweight poplar body lies two Squier ceramic single-coil Jazz Bass pickups, which supply you with iconic J Bass grit and growl on the bridge, with a warmer, mellower response on the neck pickup. What about playability? The Squier Affinity Series Jazz Bass VI's slim C graphite-reinforced maple neck and slick 12-inch-radius Indian laurel fingerboard make navigating the ultra-wide 6-string fingerboard an almost effortless task. You also get reliable die-cast sealed tuning machines and a rock-solid 6-saddle bridge. Harness the extended-range thunder of the 6-string bass with Squier’s Affinity Series Jazz Bass VI!

Jazz bass single-coils for ultimate versatility

When honing your sound, it's crucial to have the right tools and electronics. Whether you're interested in funky bass licks or metallic low-end destruction, these impressive single-coils will deliver the goods.

Reviews

Just buy it
It's everything I've ever wanted at a price that is impossible to match. Though it says Squier, it's really built with Fender quality. The neck is great to play on, the hardware is quality and the pick ups are pretty great stock. I will probably take this to a shop to ask their opinion on replacing anything, but I've played a few gigs with this already out of the box, and it's such a great bass. If you're on the fence, as I was since Squier released, just buy it. It's such a great price for a jazz bass, let alone one with 6 whole strings.

High quality Bass!!!
After spending many months looking for a quality low cost Bass for the many outdoor and humid ice house gigs in Southern Texas… I saw this… seemed like a unicorn… All perfect reviews… Been tired of bringing out my high end basses and excessively worrying about all the care for keeping them nice… I was constantly looking!!! Out of the box I only had to only make very little adjustments!!! Solid Buy!!!! Get it!!! Actually sounds better than other axes that cost 10 times more!!! If you've thought about playing a 6… or you have in the past… I highly recommend!!! Pull the trigger!!!! Get while you can!!!
Cheap bass that should coat alot more
I own 5 bass guitars. 4 of them are Fender jazz basses. 4 string 5 string and now the 6 string
I took the 6 string out on a gig. Played the first set with my American made Jazz and then used the new 6 string on the second set. I made zero amp adjustments tone or volume. The pickups on the 6 string were surprisingly active. The adjustment to the wider neck wasn't all that difficult. As far as looks the finish on the 6 string is extremely nice. I'm a strong tuning head fanatic so I'll probably upgrade them on the 6 sting. I'll also add a bone nut and then I'm done. I think Fender did every bass player who was curious about playing a 6 string ax a big favor by giving us a great starter guitar that I feel is much more than that.

It's a keeper!
It's a keeper! If you're even considering it, hurry up and click to purchase this incredible 6-string bass, and then enjoy reading about the 'sweet' instrument that will soon be yours.

This bass delivers exceptional quality on all fronts, regardless of price. Considering its relatively low cost, it's an unbelievable value—truly a Unicorn in the world of instruments. This is a genuine Jazz bass with 6 strings and a fat, wide fretboard. It plays and sounds just as it should right out of the box.

The action was a bit high when I received it, but still quite playable. The intonation is spot on, with no dead spots or buzzing notes. I gave the truss rod a quarter turn and lowered all the saddles by a full turn. It now plays even better while still sounding clean.

The fit and finish are perfect, with no visible flaws. The edges of the frets are smooth and clean. The black sparkle finish is subtle and attractive, not too flashy, and the black pickguard looks great. This bass is suitable for any gig, whether it's Punk, Prog, or a Wedding. The piece of laurel on the fretboard is a nice touch. It arrived dry and dusty, but after cleaning and lemon-oiling it, it now resembles dark rosewood and plays like butter. The light-colored maple neck has a beautiful grain, and the back has a satiny smooth feel—very comfortable and not sticky at all.

While the bass is slightly heavy, it's not uncomfortable, and it feels familiar, especially coming from a Jazz V. The string spacing is nice and wide.

The Squier pickups sound good and have plenty of output. They aren't overly noisy, and they hum-cancel effectively when used together. The pots perform well, allowing you to dial in your sound like a typical Jazz bass.

I might consider upgrading the tuners; they're okay but not super smooth. However, once it's in tune, it stays in tune.

Overall, the Squier Affinity is exceeding expectations. I wanted a 6-string Jazz bass, and I couldn't be more pleased—I truly enjoy playing this instrument.

For the money, you can't beat it!

Don’t let the low $ fool you.
What a pleasant surprise this bass was. I've been playing bass for around 35 years and have wanted a Jazz bass 6 string for a long time and never had the opportunity to buy the Steve Bailey custom they made in the early 2000s.
I was so excited to see squire offering one but was nervous due to the price being so low. Boy was I surprised! Not only is it a quality built guitar, but it sounds really great! The low B really booms and the high C sparkles. The pickup knobs are very responsive and the tone knob works great. The pickups are a little noisy so you may wanna open it up and add shielding if that bothers you. Other than that I have zero negative feedback.

It came set up ready to play, I didn't need to adjust the bridge or intone it or anything. Squires are really stepping up to the plate nowadays. What a great instrument.
