Hexrack II — Stronger, Lighter, and As Versatile As Ever
Yamaha's HEXRACK II system is a convenient way to build a monster drum kit without taking up a ton of floor space. For its design, Yamaha listened carefully to input from satisfied but insightful Gen 1 HEXRACK users and incorporated their suggestions wherever possible to create this improved rack system. This HEXRACK II uses slotted rails with a complex hexagonal cross section, and their sturdy yet lightweight aluminum alloy offers the ideal balance of portability and strength — yet it's incredibly resistant to warping and compression. The HEXRACK II employs special clamps and innovative synthetic sleeves for a rock-solid grip, and Sweetwater HEXRACK users will be glad to know this generation is compatible with the original HEXRACK, so it works with the hardware you already have.

Back to the drawing board for next-level enhancements
To make this second generation of an already successful drum rack system, Yamaha consulted their endorsed artists and other users' feedback to ensure the HEXRACK II system supplied what little was lacking the first time out. This system goes far beyond the original. Yamaha actually formulated a new aluminum alloy with a superior strength-to-weight ratio, and the newly refined clamp system lets drummers customize their setups more flexibly than ever. But they didn't throw away the mold; amazingly, you can integrate your first-generation HEXRACK into the HEXRACK II for financial savings and expanded creative possibilities.
