9002 Series hardware

DW's taken input from the world's top drummers and drum techs and incorporated it into their elite 9002 Series of hardware. In the series, you'll find all the features those drummers and techs have been calling for, including memory locks on the tube joints and the base assembly, plastic tube insulators, infinitely adjustable toothless tilters, large reset handles, secondary tilter locks, cymbal space adjusters, heavy gauge tubing, and more. For the most professional of needs - studio or stage - you can depend DW and their premier 9002 series hardware.

Patented features

Patented features like the free-floating rotor-drive system, rotating swivel spring and infinitely adjustable cam, are aligned to create a more direct transfer of energy that optimizes the stroke for more power and precision. DW 9002 Series Pedals feature an infinite adjustable cam, allowing the pedal to be easily set from Accelerator to Turbo Drive or anywhere in between. The Free-Floating Rotor drive system allows the shaft to turn independently of the rotor, directing energy from the pedal board straight to the beater. The design also uses friction-reducing ball bearings to optimize the already incredibly smooth, gravity-defying action.

Other unique features

The Floating Swivel Spring that increases efficiency on the down stroke and return stroke, creating less resistance and an incredibly smooth feel. 9000 Series Bass Drum Pedals include a Nylon Strap and can be easily converted from Chain-Drive to Nylon Strap. The Single Post Casting design provides ease of movement between the pedal and hi-hat, letting you play the pedals independently or simultaneously.

I have used many double pedals over the years. A cheap mapex, an older pearl, 2 dw 5000s, and an iron cobra. I finally settled on a pearl Demon drive and have played it for the past 4 years. Got it because of adjustability and smoothness. Also wanting to try direct drive. It took me a couple months of tweaking to get it where I was satisfied with how it felt ,but i just couldn't ever truly get it where I wanted it. I had to sacrifice the feel of it to get more power out of it or vice versa. I finally got around to getting a set of 9000s and it took ever it of 5 seconds of playing to crush the demon drive. I don't even know if I want to mess with the way it is set. It plays so good with the factory setup. Speed is phenomenal. The response blew me away. I've tried them in stores but playing it on my own kit I've been playing for almost 10 years changed the whole feel. Highly recommended.

So smooth you hardly notice they are there!

I've tried many a double pedal by many a manufacture and this puppy burns them all HANDS DOWN! The first night I used them, after half a set of music, I realized they are so responsive and smooth that for a brief moment, forgot they were there! Control is superb. Balance is nothing short of perfect, speed sustainability second to none. So happy I made this purchase and would recommend to any of my students. As a matter of fact, going to sneak this pedal into lessons for them to enjoy!

dw 9002 dbl pedal

for about 5 years i hap a pdp dbl pedal and hated it it was a low priced one and it broke alot. then i got a pearl mid-priced dbl pedal and got it to my liking after 9 months of messing around with it. but always wanted a DW 9002 and finally after 16 years of playing i now have one this thing is great. its smooth, looks great and has a great reaction to the way i play. right out of the box is the way it still sits just put together and played. the case that comes with it is beautiful. i strongly approve of anything DW there a very wonderful company and take care of the people that use there products

For the last seven years I've been stuck with a fixed double pedal from pdp. I finally spoiled myself and got this bad boy and man its a beast. Everything on this pedal is smooth and feels right to the touch. It weighs enough to get all the power but not so much you need a crane to get off the rug. The rotating action on this pedal is beautiful, the only noise you hear is the sound of the beater hitting the head. The versatility of this pedal makes it useful for almost any setting and the ruggedness of it makes it durable for the road. I speak highly and will continue to do so for a long time. This pedal is quite extraordinary!
