DW designed the Design Series Frequent Flyer Kit to give you a portable drum kit that doesn't sound puny or wimpy. Most "portable" acoustic drum kits feature a smaller bass drum that just makes the kit sound small. The Frequent Flyer Kit packs a 20" bass drum for the punch and impact of a full-size kit. The secret here is a combination of shallow drum shells and lighter-weight hardware, that all adds up to an amazingly compact and transportable kit. Ask any drummer at Sweetwater, the DW Design Series Frequent Flyer Kit four-piece shell pack is a portable drum kit that doesn't sacrifice tone!

• Better tuning with DW's True-Pitch Tuning Rods

You still get impressive punch and tone from the Design Series Frequent Flyer Kit, even though its shells are shallow for better transportability. The secret is DW's HVLT shell construction, which uses multiple plies of maple arranged with alternating grain patterns. By alternating the direction of the wood grains HVLT shells are more rigid, enhancing the focus and attack of your drum tone.

Many "travel size" drum kits give you a compact kick drum that really doesn't pack the "oomph" you're looking for. The Frequent Flyer Kit packs a 20"-diameter bass drum, with a 12" shell depth. DW chose this size as the best compromise between tone and size, and we think you'll be impressed at the full sound you get from this drum kit.

You'll have more control over your tuning than ever with DW's True-Pitch Tuning Rods. These tighter-threaded tension rods let you intonate your kit with much greater precision than standard rods allow. True-Pitch Tuning Rods have 20% more threads than common tuning rods, which means DW Designer Series drums can be tuned more exactly than most drums on the market.
