Reason Essentials is a streamlined version of Propellerhead's famous Reason and Record software. That's right, Reason and Record have been merged into a single powerful music creation and recording program. You get the killer music creation tools, synths, drum machines, and virtual instruments that made Reason famous, along with the audio recording features of Record. Propellerhead Reason Essentials is a powerhouse of a DAW.

A good point of reference for any audio interface is its input and output flexibility. The Propellerhead Balance has the options you need to record your next hit song. You can hook up two 48V phantom-powered XLR mic inputs or two 1/4" guitar/instrument inputs simultaneously, in any combination you need. Two sets of of stereo 1/4" inputs let you hook up your keyboard or other outboard gear. On the output side, the Balance interface has two TRS balanced main outputs to go to your monitors and one headphone output. Each output has its own independent control knob.

Reason Essentials has a large and diverse set of virtual instruments. Advanced synths, samplers, effects, and drum machines give you an unlimited range of sound production, but there are simple modules as well, which are a great way to start if you're new to sound creation and manipulation. Dr. OctoRex combines the loop-playback power of eight original Dr. Rex modules and adds advanced loop-slice manipulation and playback options.
