Ampeg BA-110v2

I have been playing worship in churches from Kansas to Texas for 30 some years maybe. I have played christian rock and metal, southern gospel, and blues. In my 50 years as a musician I have used and own a lot of equipment and been around it. I play lead guitar and bass. For the last 10 years I have been playing a lot of bass, because we don't have any other bass players right now. We have a lot guitar players, but I love it love to play for Jesus. Anyway I also play small venue's with my pastor, and I got tired of lugging my big rig around for 10 or 30 people. I used this amp the very night I got it at a gig, I was amazed how it handle the room very well we had 24 people there, it was a retirement gated housing place. It had good low end for a little amp, smallest I think I have ever own. But my 5 string the low B on my Yamaha TRBX305 I also bought from Sweetwater, was pushing the little 10in speaker a lot. I use a Fender Jazz 4 string the most, and it handle it great. If you a 5 string bass player, I would go with the next one up, the 210 or 15, 75 watt Ampeg. But again for me and my 4 string and smaller gigs its awesome little amp, and great for practice with the added head phone option. And once again Sweetwater was awesome Ben my friend, was awesome helping me, can't ask for better service, and integrity then Sweetwater and their sales staff is awesome, shipping is fast and right to your door. I like that it seems when I go to that place you know the GC don't want to say their name. Anyway they always have to order the stuff I want, I can do that myself and get it deliver to my door at know cost most the time, and I don't have to drive 15 miles to the GC place to pick it up. Man I don't know why you would want to go anywhere else but Sweetwater. They have a lot of options to pay, do yourself a favor check them out great wonderful people and they are awesome answering questions, and they know their stuff.

Sounds great

I'm a Bluegrass picker so I know very little about amps I wanted an amp to use with a acoustic electric bass. This amp sounds great and is easy to use for a novice to playing anything electric.

Perfect for a beginner!

I'm new to playing bass, and needed something more than the headphone amp I was using. After tons of research I selected the Ampeg BA110v2. It has excellent tone at low volume for practice. And the headphone line is also a great option when the baby is napping! The EQ is surprisingly sensitive to the slightest turn of the knob, which helps to adjust to what seems to be an infinite variety of tones. So far, I've only used the 1/8 inch auxiliary-in for playing along with songs. Great sound coming from the speaker, which I also use in lieu of computer speakers. The added "Aux Level" helps, too. The angled cabinet directs the sound up towards the user, so it seems I seem to need less volume for practicing. Additionally, the angle puts all the controls right at my finger tips. Sweetwater is the best! It took less than 24 hours to arrive. I made the mistake of trying to order this from the big strip mall chain, which ended in disaster. There's a store four miles from my job that had this amp listed as same day pickup. I wanted the amp for a four-day weekend, but they never notified me that it was not actually in stock. When I called, no one could tell me when it would arrive at the store. So, I cancelled the order and bought it from Sweetwater. Like I said, it was at my door the next day. Don't waste your time searching for another bass amp or a different retailer.

Ampeg BA-110v2 1x10 40w Bass Amp

Loud, but smooth. Can't wait to get my Hofner Bass & try it then. Great service & shipping as usual. I won't buy from anyone else. Thanks to Bart Good. I told him what I needed & he put me on the right path.
