The Legendary Silver Jubilee Tube Amp Returns!

In 1987, Marshall celebrated 25 years of amp building with their original Silver Jubilee Series, catching the attention of guitarists such as the up-and-coming Slash, and then disappearing just a year later. This 2555X Silver Jubilee reissue brings back Marshall's highly-coveted 2-channel, 100-watt head with all the vibe and look of the original plus a smattering of cool improvements. Like its predecessors, the 2555X includes high- and low-output switching. If you've ever heard a 100-watt Marshall at full roar, you'll appreciate how this feature lets the 2555X sing at both arena and club levels. This edition also gives you even lower noise performance and improved reliability.

Add the perfect cab to your Sliver Jubilee amp!

Whether you've been chasing down a Silver Jubilee amp for years or you just want to satisfy your craving for genuine Marshall tone at its best, you'll love this 2555X Silver Jubilee reissue head. Multiple speaker jacks let you easily match this head up with your favorite cabinet, and it plays well with a wide range of cabinets. Of course, if you're a purist, then you'll want to grab a matching cab or two to go with your 2555X. Lucky for you, Sweetwater also carries the slanted 2551AV and the straight 2551BV extension cabinets, which come decked out in matching silver vinyl.

Marshall 2555X Silver Jubilee Reissue Guitar Amplifier Features:

  • A reissue of the 1987 Silver Jubilee series guitar amplifier
  • A favorite guitar amplifier of rock guitarists including Slash
  • 2-channel, 100-watt all-tube amplifier includes high-/low-output switching
  • Decked out in dazzling silver vinyl and outfitted with vintage appointments
  • Straight or angled matching 4 x 12" cabinet with Celestion Vintage 30 speakers available
  • Includes footswitch
What is Certified Open Box Gear?

At Sweetwater, we're so picky that what we call "Certified Open Box" is actually better than what most music retailers sell as "new" gear! Our gear hasn't endured hundreds of people a week plunking away at all the keyboards, fumbling through Stairway to Heaven on every guitar or playing with every fader and knob on a mixer or control surface.

Certified Open Box (also known as a demo) means we’ve had it out of the box for our YouTube channel, displayed at events, tested in our studio, or maybe it was in a customer’s hands for a few days and isn’t ‘factory fresh’ as a result. Every Certified Open Box item we sell has Sweetwater’s 2-year Total Confidence Coverage™ warranty and has been tested and verified up to ‘new’ specs by our factory-authorized technicians to make sure it’s in perfect working order before we ship it to you.

When you buy a Certified Open Box item at Sweetwater, you get:
  • 2-year Total Confidence Coverage Warranty™!
  • Products inspected and tested by our factory-authorized techs, guaranteed to function like new (or better)!
  • FREE shipping on most items
  • Equipment that will MEET or EXCEED your expectations!

Geoff Masse
This amp rig is amazing. Its a true testament to the incredible tone that an 80's Marshall can deliver. Its extremely
versatile, and the Clean Ch. is probably one of thee most punchiest yet smoothest clean sounds ever.
I also need to say that Sweetwater is amazing at picking the right sales people for worldwide selling in gear.
Thanks Josh for all your time and kindness over the phone. I received my rig in 3 days, fast and furious !!! LOL
This is my 27th amp in 4.5 years, its been a very long and frustrating road to find my tone, I have had everything
off the menu of "Best of the Best" amplifiers, and the Jubilee that I tried many years ago, really stuck in my memory as an
amp that I wished and hoped to have in the near future. It was always a little too much money at the times I was looking
for a new amp. This time, Sweetwater made it happen for me and I am extremely happy with my purchase. Thanks again Josh Hacker for
helping with what seems to be a Life Long tone journey !! Say hi to Don Carr for me, still waiting for him to answer the phone on one of my weekly calls to the store. LOL

Amazing!
It's the best amp I've ever played. This thing rocks!
It’s a JCM 800, what’s not to like!
Awesome amp, classic Marshall sound, only thing I wish it had? Old spring reverb.
Music background: Almost 40

I bought this amp about 6 months ago in 2020. I thought i was buying a high gain amp, well its really not high gain. I was a little let down. I haven't owned a Marshall since the 1990's when i had 2 JCM 900 heads and they had more gain. If you want lots of gain buy a JVM.

I mostly run this amp in half power mode which is 50 watt triode mode. Triode mode is warmer sounding to my ears. You can use the rhythm clip mode and will give you more gain but to me it's useless because it thins out the sound of the amp which is otherwise FAT...

Im using this amp with a Universal Audio OX which is stellar by the way. I didn't like the tone at first but then i did a bias. The amp was set cold at 60.I looked online and a lot of people said 73 was a sweet spot and that is true. Being able to bias this amp without taking it apart is really sweet.
The next thing I did was ad a range master treble booster and that really made this amp sound like a beast..
Things just opened up with the treble booster. My jaw actually hit the ground.Thats how good it sounds.

In closing its a great amp, huge sound stage, punchy, articulate when setup right and with the treble booster. This amp is a great tone platform. Marshall has their sound and i missed it glad to be back. Im getting great tone In the studio. Thank you Sweetwater and Matt Brooks.!!!

The hype is real!
Clean channel is better than my 1974 100 watt Twin. Gain channel is Slash.

What Do Our In-house Gear Experts Think?
Charlie Davis
The ultimate Marshall. Everything from early JTM45 cleans and light breakup, to JCM800 metal and high gain tones. Everyone should have at least one Marshall in their collection and it should be this one.

There are countless "British"-style guitar amplifiers out there, but take it from the lifelong guitarists and tone connoisseurs at Sweetwater, when it comes to Marshall tone, there's nothing like the real thing. We've played them all, from vintage JTM45s and the ultra-cool Plexi reissue to modern handmade masterpieces such as the JVM410. There isn't a model among them we can't recommend with total confidence, and that includes their more affordable models too, like MG, DSL, and Code series amps. Thanks to our tight relationship with Marshall, Sweetwater's always on the cutting edge of their latest designs, custom models, and limited-edition gems. If you want iconic tone from across the pond, you want Marshall, and your Sweetwater Sales Engineer will help you find the perfect one.
