Flatwound Strings for Your Jazz Box

La Bella 20PCM Jazz Flats stainless steel flatwound electric guitar strings were developed in 1940 for the hollowbody jazz guitars of the era, and they continue to be favored by contemporary jazz guitarists. La Bella 20PCM strings feature a high-magnetic-content formulation designed for optimized output and long playing life. With a smooth, comfortable surface that minimizes finger noise, La Bella 20PCM Jazz Flats stainless flatwound strings deliver a bright, lively tone that cuts through the mix.

La Bella's string expertise reaches back centuries

While La Bella strings are the top choice for world-famous musicians such as Willie Nelson, Bryan Adams, and Ron Carter, their heritage reaches way back - almost four centuries back, starting in Salle, Italy, in the seventeenth century with the Mari family. They were famous throughout Europe and even supplied violin strings to Amati and Stradivari. Brothers Emilio and Olinto Mari moved their string operation to New York in the early twentieth century, and the modern-day foundation for La Bella strings was born. Join the Sweetwater guitarists and bassists who rely on La Bella strings to deliver the tone, onstage and in the studio.

Reviews

Liking these, a bit more mellow than TIs
I'm using these on an Ibanez Artcore Custom (mid-2000's) with Super 58 pickups. Sound is bright with no harshness. Unplugged sound is pretty good too ... until now I didn't know this guitar could sound good unplugged.

I play jazz mostly solo or in a duo, so I'm super focused on my sound. To my ears, these strings are in between Thomastik Infeld Swing and D'Addario Chromes. While the TIs sound awesome on this guitar through a tube amp at reasonable volume, in other circumstances they're just too bright. Conversely the D'Addarios (which sound fantastic on my 339 with P90s) aren't bright enough on this guitar.
