Sabian HHX
Welcome to the dark side: Sabian HHX. Historically, cymbals are either dark- or bright-sounding, and never the twain shall meet. With Sabian HHX, Sabian managed to create a line of dark-sounding cymbals that sit beautifully in the track, yet cut through thick arrangements like a hot knife through butter. This makes Sabian HHX cymbals ideal for a wide swath of music genres, from progressive metal, fusion, and EDM to traditional jazz. From luscious, chocolaty ride cymbals to dark, sizzling crashes, HHX Tone Projection technology harnesses the power of the dark side, punctuating your drumming with shimmering accents that blend into the track and don’t merely float above it. Sabian HHX Evolution, Legacy, and Complex cymbals have set the standard for contemporary dark cymbal sounds, serving up the simmering heat and characterful dirt that sets your sound apart as a modern drummer.
The classic B20 formulation has been in use longer than other bronze alloys to make cymbals with the broadest frequency range, from dark to bright. Sabian HHX cymbals sing with the rich resonance of the company’s proprietary B20 alloy — dark and simmering, with the heat and aggressive cut modern music production demands. Hand-hammered Sabian HHX hi hats are in a league of their own, deploying the definitive chick and crisp, clean stick sound that drives today’s diverse music styles.
