French virtual instrument developer XILS-lab has announced StiX, a virtual analog and multi-synthesis drum machine with an integrated sequencer for Mac and PC. Based on the long-lost STIX Programma ST-305 from Italian manufacturer SoundMaster — one of the first affordable analog drum machines to feature programmable patterns. The StiX plug-in includes 10 full-featured synthesisers —— one for each sound being hosted by 10 virtual drum pads, each of which can call upon several sound engines, including virtual analog and FM sine oscillators (with wave shaping and a third oscillator that can load samples), as well as easy and advanced synthesis pages. StiX includes 390 exclusive samples, 60 drum kits, 2,000 presets, more than 720 patterns, and much more!
