Sweetwater played host this week to an amazing lineup of key worship artists and musicians to present a special series of workshops centered around the latest tools and technology for worship. There’s been a remarkable shift in the way churches incorporate technology into their worship experience. Sweetwater brought in these industry experts to explain how churches of any size can take advantage of these powerful technology solutions.
Ableton Live-certified trainer Will Doggett and The Digital Age (formerly David Crowder Band) partnered to discuss the power of using MultiTracks with Ableton Live to supplement your worship band while giving you the flexibility to adjust the arrangement of the song on the fly. They also explained how Ableton Live can be used to manage multiple aspects of the worship ecosystem such as running ProPresenter lyrics, media servers, and even lighting consoles all in perfect unison with the song. Over 200 worship leaders, musicians, and technical directors from across the Midwest attended this “Tools and Technology for Worship” workshop.
Peter James of Hillsong United and Ian McIntosh of Jesus Culture spent an evening explaining sound design and the key fundamentals of using patches in worship. Using the latest tools such as Omnisphere and Reason, they guided the attendees through their preferred workflow for selecting and developing keyboard patches for worship employing techniques such as using low-pass filters to control the tone and volume of a patch. They also announced that their personally created custom patches for most of their popular songs are now available for purchase through MultiTracks.com.
