Cakewalk has a new FireWire recording solution with their FA-66. It offers simultaneous 6-input/6-output performance at 24-bit/96kHz and 4-input/4-output performance at full 24-bit/192kHz. Onboard, there are two XLR/TRS combo inputs plus a Hi-Z input, so it’s great for singer/songwriters and guitar or bass players. A built-in analog limiter helps control your sound without clipping and there’s S/PDIF optical I/O for bringing in two channels from another piece of gear. MIDI I/O is also onboard.
