Matthias Hohner founded the company in 1857 in Trossingen, Germany. By 1905, production had reached 7,000,000 units annually, made by 1,000 employees. Today the company offers more than 75 models, which have been played by such artists as John Lennon, Stevie Wonder, Steven Tyler, James Cotton, Little Walter, Johnny Cash, John Popper, John Lee Hooker, Mick Jagger, Robert Plant, Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Roger Daltry, Neil Young, Sheryl Crow, and many more.
