K2600 owners have found a friend in Synth-Tek, who have taken the time to put together an awfully good tutorial CD-ROM for Mac and PC. It’s the K2600 Beginner’s Guide CD-ROM, and it covers not just the most important things you need to know to get up and running with your King of Kurzweils, but seemingly everything anyone that just picked one up (or maybe has had one for awhile, but hasn’t been completely able to master the K2600’s VAST synth power). Definitely a good springboard to propel yourself further into a wonderful machine.
Some quick good news for everyone – Sweetwater has extended Christmas! Koblo, makers of some fine audio software for Macs, have made their monophonic stereo synthesizer available as a free download. Vibra1000 comes complete with basic oscillators, filters, envelopes and top quality 32-bit stereo DSP algorithms. And there’s nothing like free… just register at their website, and try out this soft synth.
