Well who wouldn’t? You get to ride in limos, fly first class and… but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. VirtuosoWorks, Inc., the people who brought you the Notion music composition and performance software, has announced a new composition competition, with the Grand Prize being a round-trip flight for two to London, where your music will be recorded by the world-renowned London Symphony Orchestra at the legendary Abbey Road Studios (yes, the same studios The Beatles used!). You also get free hotel accommodations, a copy of Notion, and oh yeah, $2,500 in cash!
The Notion Realize Music Challenge will run from June 30 to November 30, 2006, during which you can compose up to a 10-minute work using Notion software or the free demo version available here. In addition, one runner-up will win a copy of Notion software as well as $1,000 in cash and have their work featured on the Notion Web site, while five finalists will receive a free copy of Notion. All compositions will be judged by an expert panel of music industry judges including film composition, orchestral composition, music education, and popular music.
