We now have plenty of stock on the TDW-1 from Roland. The TDW-1 is a fantastic sound expansion board for their popular TD-10 based electronic drum systems. The TDW-1 plugs into the TD-10 brain and gives you 50 more kits and 360 more sounds (over 14 MB worth) for a total of 30 MB of total ROM based sounds on line. That’s a pretty significant number when one thinks about the relatively short duration of most drum sounds. You can have the 50 original kits on line and have immediate access to the 50 new kits by adding an M-512E memory card.
We’ve had a lot of inquiries about E-MU’s new Virtuoso module; people are wondering if it really sounds as good as the claims. When it comes to orchestral sounds like this, most composers are pretty hypersensitive to the timbres. We can tell you that E-MU spared no expense doing a first class sound set for this thing. But, if you don’t believe us they have a bunch of MP3 demos you can try out at their Web site. We think you’ll be impressed.
