Universal Audio has received several reports of a very low-level noise in the 2108 dual channel preamp. They have discovered the source of the problem and have created a fix for it! The fix is simple to do, requires no special tools and no exposure to high voltages due to the 2108’s external power supply. The problem only exists on units with a serial number of 341 or lower, as they have now implemented this fix in production. The good news to all registered owners of the 2108 is that Universal Audio is shipping out a parts kit – two replacement cables – along with a printed set of instructions.
