Roland’s MMP-2 Mic Modeling Preamp just arrived. This is a very cool two-channel desk microphone pre with features you won’t find on any other preamp, like COSM mic modeling, four bands of fully parametric EQ, modeled tube compression, an enhancer, a de-esser and control software for a Mac or PC. Users can even download new effect plug-ins to the MMP-2 though USB.

Sibelius has announced that Sibelius 2 for MacOS X is now Available. The new version adds a new properties window that makes setting up a score much easier, a new readout for timecode and tempo, a redesigned mixer window, the ability to import color graphics into a score, as well as the ability to color notes specific colors. For example, one scheme allows you to color notes according to their position in the Circle of Fifths. The company’s scanning software is also now available for OS X.
