Today marked the official release of Propellerhead Software’s Reason 9, the latest version of their music production software. Reason 9 expands on the powerful Reason platform with new devices, new tools, workflow enhancements, and more than 1,000 new sounds.
Reason 9 includes three new Player devices, which can be used to transform and process MIDI input data. Note Echo creates rhythmic and/or pitched delays of MIDI notes for effects, melodies, rolls, and textures. Scales & Chords transposes MIDI notes to create harmonies and chords within a key — no music theory required. Dual Arpeggio converts notes and chords into everything from classic arpeggiator patterns to intricate rhythmic and textural material.
New tools provide both enhanced workflow and new possibilities for music creation. Pitch Edit mode can be used to fix out-of-tune vocals or to reshape melodies or even vibrato — change dynamics, timing, and more. Audio to MIDI converts audio data, such as vocals, into MIDI data that can drive a synthesizer or drum machine.
One thousand new cutting-edge sounds are included with Reason 9 to ignite your creativity. The Reason rack has been enhanced with new workflow improvements and darker theme options are included. Reason 9 also now comes with the Pulsar dual-channel LFO Rack Extension.
With Reason 9, Propellerhead Software has taken music creation and production to an entirely new level! Upgrade pricing is available from any previous version.
