The latest version of Reason has been announced by Propellerhead Software! New features abound in this update, including a huge user request — MIDI output via a new External MIDI Instrument device. Reason also now has automatic audio slicing and audio quantize, and audio can be converted into REX loops.
New mixing features include a new Spectrum Analyzer with visual EQ controls, group and parallel mix channels, and many workflow enhancements. A new Audiomatic Retro Transformer effect is said to add a “futuristic-vintage” sound to any track.
It’s now easier to import audio from user music libraries and from the web. Audio support now includes MP3, AAC, WMA, and more. The Factory Sound Bank has been enhanced with tons of new loops and drum kits.
Reason 7 will be released in Q2, but a limited public beta test will be offered at the Propellerhead Software site.
