Studio One 3.5, an extensive update to PreSonus’s popular DAW for Mac and Windows offering 60 new features and enhancements, is now available as a free update for registered Studio One 3.x owners. Among the hottest new features in Studio One 3.5 is native low-latency monitoring, which provides extremely low latency monitoring without need for expensive hardware DSP. When used with a high-speed audio interface (the brand-new PreSonus Quantum makes a great choice), this allows you to stay completely within Studio One throughout the entire production process. You get better stability, faster performance, Dropout Protection, and more, even at low buffer settings.
The revised Project page provides new track markers that can be positioned freely, allowing CD tracks to span multiple songs and the ability to divide long recordings (such as live concerts) into multiple tracks without splitting the audio. Other Project page enhancements include updated loudness detection, and a revised Spectrum meter.

A much-requested feature has been “Undo Faders,” and it’s here in Studio One 3.5. In fact, in Studio One 3.5, you can “undo” changes in the entire mixer, including plug-ins, instruments, routing, I/O selection, FX chains, and more. Mixer actions are now added to the Undo History.

The new Studio One 3.5 Fat Channel XT plug-in is bit-for-bit identical to the Fat Channel in the StudioLive Series III mixers, and offers the same routing and processing abilities, including vintage compressor and EQ models. You can also remote-control StudioLive Series III mic preamps and Fat Channels from within Studio One.
Studio One 3.5 offers enhanced integration with the also-new PreSonus Notion 6.2 music notation/scoring software update. Other new features in Studio One 3.5 include independent recording and playback devices for macOS so you don’t need to create an Aggregate Device; optimized Song and Project file formats that save and auto-save more than 10 times faster; support for multiple touchscreens; new options for exporting and bouncing events; an updated Show/Hide Automation command; and, when adding Instrument parameter automation, a new automation lane is now added directly on the currently selected Instrument track.
Studio One 3.5 is a free update for registered users.
