Yesterday we advised you to kick off the year/decade by backing up all your data and media. Today, we’re suggesting that with the recent turning over of the calendar, it’s a great opportunity to take a couple hours/a day/a weekend/a week/or whatever to go through your rig and make sure that all software is up to date, that all the cables are healthy and correct (get rid of all those adapter kludges, please), everything is labeled, all the gear is working properly, and everything is clean, tuned up, and ready for action.
