Musikmesse News: Korg

A variety of new products were announced by Korg at Musikmesse 2014!

Pa300 Professional Arranger — a portable 61-key arranger with Touchview screen, built-in speakers in a bass-reflex enclosure, stereo 13-watt amplifiers, Enhanced RX (Real eXperience) sound engine, more than 310 styles, more than 950 sounds, 64 drum kits, and much more.

LP-180 Digital Piano — a slim, 88-note piano with the sound and NH hammer action from the popular SP-170 stage piano; available in black or white. Stereo piano samples at two velocities are featured, with 10 different sound variations covering electric piano, vibraphone, pipe organ, strings, and more. Two speakers are onboard, driven by 11-watt amplifiers.

Nuvibe — in the 1960s, Korg launched a unique modulation pedal that was prominently featured by a legendary guitarist at Woodstock. Fifty years later, Korg has rejoined forces with the original engineer to bring Nuvibe, a modern re-creation of the classic pedal. As with the original, you can select chorus or vibrato, and a dedicated expression pedal can control the effect. Korg went to extreme lengths — using 79 transistors — to re-create the CdS photoresistor at the heart of the pedal. New features include 10 WAVE sliders for customizing the effect.

Rimpitch — a new style of acoustic guitar tuner that mounts into the sound hole of the guitar. A piezo pickup senses the pitch, while a high-visibility LED displays the tuning status.
