Mousing Around on the Roland VS-2400CD

One of the coolest features of the Roland VS-2400CD (besides its insanely low price) is its ability to interface with a standard VGA monitor. If you’re like us, you might even have an extra monitor in a closet somewhere if you recently upgraded your computer. For navigating on the monitor, you can use VS-2400CD’s mouse, which is normally used to move around the recorder’s LCD. Here’s how you can toggle back and forth between using the mouse on the VGA monitor and the LCD screen.

  1. First hold down the SHIFT button (it’s just above and to the right of the data entry wheel).
  2. Next press the MASTER EDIT button. Now your mouse will appear on your external monitor. Repeat the process and the mouse goes back to the onboard display.
