The NAB (National Association of Broadcasters) show is taking place this week in Las Vegas, Nevada, and MOTU has several new announcements: First up, MOTU’s PCI capture devices now have drivers compatible with Adobe Premiere Pro CS5 and CS5.5. The new drivers, which are available free of charge, support the HDX-SDI and HD Express PCI-based video capture and monitoring devices under Windows 7 and Windows Vista, including forward compatibility with version CS5.5 when it ships later this spring. MOTU was also showing calibrated monitoring on the HP DreamColor display via 10-bit RGB HDI output from the HD Express.
In addition, MOTU announced that their video interfaces will fully support Premiere Pro CS5.5’s closed captioning feature using industry-standard .scc or .mcc files. The captions can be viewed on-screen or using an external television. Both standard- and high-definition captions are supported. Support for captioning will be released with an update at the same time as CS5.5 is released.
