The new gear is appearing fast and furious at the huge Musikmesse tradeshow in Frankfurt, Germany. Check out these highlights:
Korg has announced the MR2 mobile recorder, a handheld unit with built-in adjustable X-Y stereo mic capsule, and SD/HDSD card storage. Like it’s other MR siblings, the MR2 can record DSD, with sample rates up to 2.8MHz. The MR2 can mount to a camera-style tripod and it can be used with an external microphone. Other features include an analog limiter, low-cut filter, bass EQ, 40 recording setups, 10 user settings, a built-in tuner, USB 2.0, and much more.
The Digitech JamMan Delay Looper offers true stereo looping with a built-in, fully programmable stereo delay with up to 16 seconds of delay time. It offers up to 35 minutes of onboard memory, 99 loop memories, SD card support, tap tempo, expression pedal input for delay or looper control, USB, and, of course, much more.
Lexicon LXP offers four signature reverbs (Chamber, Hall, Plate, and and Room) for cross-platform native applications, 200 presets, graphical displays, full parameter control and automation, , DAW-independent preset storage, I/O meters, mono and stereo support, and, yes, much more.
Cakewalk V-Studio 20, like its V-Studio brethren, comprises a complete portable hardware recording system along with complete computer integration as an interface and control surface. The list of features is tremendously long, but it includes 24-bit/44.1kHz resolution, USB, COSM DSP, zero-latency direct monitoring, eight channels with volume and track select, one-touch access to important features, XLR mic input, Hi-Z guitar input, built-in stereo mic, headphone out, two footswitch and expression pedal inputs and way more, inlcuding the VS-20 Effects Editor and Guitar Tracks recording software.
