When Marshall dropped the DriveMaster in 1992, a new precedent was set for overdrive and distortion pedals, evoking the stadium-shaking sonics of their JCM-800 packed into a pint-sized powerhouse. After many years, the highly coveted pedal makes its triumphant return, commemorating the 60th anniversary of Marshall’s seminal sounds. Its design carefully and faithfully mimics the original, resulting in historically accurate, arena-sized tones that Nick Bowcott takes to task, detailing the story of this iconic pedal before cranking things up with some high-octane licks.
