A: Many experts believe that if the buzzing isn’t audible when you plug the guitar in, it’s probably okay. If you start to hear it through a clean amp, the action may be too low or the neck may need to be adjusted.
Other players and experts, however, believe that the tone will be better and the guitar will have more sustain if the string rings pure when played unplugged, without any buzzing.
Why not try adjusting the action higher and lower, and see which sounds better through your amp to you? Just be sure to take careful measurements before you start so you can return the guitar to its original state if you want.
