Q: The Novation Launchpad has four modes. I get what the Session mode is for — launching clips and scenes, and I get what the Mixer mode is for — controlling volume, pan, aux sends, etc., but what are User 1 and User 2 for?
A: The two User modes are fully customizable/programmable for just about any control task you can think of. Out of the box, User 1 modes is set up as a drum pad controller for Live’s Drum Racks, so you can play in beats from the Launchpad. The User modes will also be important for getting the most from upcoming Max for Live devices.
