The Korg Radias was definitely an experience from start to finish. Right out of the box I was blown away by the look and style of this unit before even getting it all set up. Matched with the versatility, the sound module was one of the most visually responsive units that I have ever used.
The sounds that come with this unit are unbelievable. Not only do they sound amazing on their own right out of the box, but the user is able to change any parameter, and save them in either the user or program presets. Adding to the control that this box boasts, Sound Editor software is shipped along with it. This allows the user do everything you can do from the box – change parameters, create FX, etc., from the Mac/PC based software and load them back to the module.
The Radias also has one of the best vocoders available in this price range and also makes it super easy to take advantage of it. Just when I thought I would have to buy or find a microphone that would work with this, Korg impressed me again. They include a headset microphone that has a dedicated input. This was a huge feature for me, since I didn’t want to hook up another microphone or a stand and congest my workspace.
Overall, the Korg Radias is a versatile, powerful synth/vocoder that offers both style and control.
