I was lucky enough to be one of the first people to receive the Korg padKONTROL a couple of years ago and it still blows me away every time I use it. The included librarian software makes the set-up a breeze and the integration with Logic Pro and Reason is amazing! The pads feel great and are incredibly responsive. Each pad can be set to different velocity curves, and they even light up when struck!
A unique feature that really sets the padKONTROL apart from other controllers is the X-Y pad. It’s a 3″ X 2.5″ “KAOSS-style” touch pad that can be set to transmit MIDI messages to control effects within your DAW. Aside from controlling effects from the touch control it also gives you the ability to perform realistic rolls and flams by simply pressing the appropriate button and moving your finger around on the X-Y pad. I couldn’t live without mine and neither should you. Your beats NEED this!
